Syone sponsors another edition of Hack for Good, a 2-day non-stop tech marathon organized by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in order to promote the development of technological solutions to social challenges.
On the 5th and 6th of May, programmers, designers and entrepreneurs come together to develop apps, websites, platforms and prototypes that translate into true innovative and scalable solutions for real life problems, strengthening the connection between the IT sector and the Social sector.
The last 2 editions counted with 308 participants and 69 projects and followed the topics of ‘Elderly Well-Being’ and ‘Integration of Refugees and Migrants´. This year, the Hackathon challenge is under the theme of ‘Children & Youth Well-Being´ but, for the first time, there is also the opportunity to explore the challenges from the previous editions.
Another novelty introduced on this 2018 edition is the full program that will help the participants go from idea to product, including a Warm-Up period, where the participants can start working on their ideas, the 2-day Hackathon, a special Bootcamp designed to develop the projects after the hackathon and, last but not least, the opportunity to be present at the Web Summit.
This year, the Hackathon will take place in Porto and Syone upholds this great initiative by sponsoring the prizes being delivered to the winning team and through mentoring, counting with a team of 4 mentors that will be on sight helping the participating teams.
